Tips for Side Effects Management for TS-ONE ®
Cancer Drugs can cause side effects.There are two kinds of side effects: the physically recognizable and unrecognizable side effects. For the latter you need a blood test to identify. (Such as low white blood cell count, anemia, low platelet count, liver disorder and so on.)
You may be able to prevent or reduce some of the side effects during the medication if you are aware of and prepare for them. Please read the information about the side effects.

Interstitial pneumonia
Your lung, especially interstitium may become inflamed, and it may decrease your lung function. Although it may occur in 1 out of 300 patients, it is important to be aware of this side effect.
Symptoms are dry cough without phlegm, difficulty to breath, shortness of breath, fever.
If you have suffered from lung inflammation disease in the past, taken radiation therapy, used to smoke or been smoking large amounts for a long period of time, please consult your doctor or nurse.
Watery eyes
TS-ONE ® may affect your tear production. 1 or 2 patients out of 10 may experience this side effect. You may also experience the symptoms like eye redness, blurry, distorted vision, conjunctivitis, keratitis, lacrimal duct obstruction (Blocked tear duct) etc, eye pain and dry eyes. Please consult your doctor or nurse when you notice any problems with your vision.
Other side effects
Please consult your doctor or nurse if you experience the symptoms like burn-like blisters, palpitation, numbness, muscle pain, decreased urine output, blood in stool etc.
Suggestions
Although the side effects each patient experiences may vary from one to another, it is important for you to know about them in advance. It makes you detect the side effects earlier and to handle them without being worried. The chance, severity and onset time of side effects may vary for each patient, depending on the physical condition. It doesn’t mean these side effects would happen to all patients. Please note the condition on your medication log and discuss them with your doctor in regular visits.
